SELECTING THE
AI UTAH 100
Identifying the top 100 AI professionals in Utah, known as the AI Utah 100, was no small task. The process was designed to be thorough and inclusive, ensuring a diverse range of talents were recognized. Here’s a simplified overview of how it was done:
COMMUNITY NOMINATIONS
The tech community was invited to nominate individuals they believed excelled in AI. This inclusive approach allowed for a wide range of candidates.
EMPHASIS ON TECH LEADERS’ INPUT
Nominations and votes from seasoned tech leaders held extra weight, honoring their AI expertise. This aimed to acknowledge the insights of those with extensive industry knowledge in artificial intelligence.
EXPERT PANEL DECISIONS
The final selection was made by a panel of experts, including Clint Berry, Matt Smith, and Jon Bradshaw, each with significant contributions to the tech world.
CATEGORIES FOR RECOGNITION
The AI Utah 100 were categorized into four groups:
- Futurists: Visionaries in AI
- Builders: Coders actively working with AI models
- Integrators: Leaders who implement AI in various sectors
- Rising Stars: Emerging talents in AI
A key goal of the selection process was to ensure that at least 50% of the honorees were actual builders or coders. This target was successfully met, emphasizing the practical and hands-on aspects of AI development.
BUILDING A FOUNDATION FOR FUTURE RECOGNITION
This marks the inaugural year of acknowledging AI talent in Utah, setting the groundwork for future, more refined lists. As we support Utah’s AI ecosystem, we aspire to highlight the region’s expanding influence and innovation in artificial intelligence. This ongoing initiative not only applauds current leaders but also fosters the growth of the next generation of AI professionals.
